On Sunday, March 22, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville celebrated the accomplishments of eight new homeowners during a dedication ceremony at Park Preserve in North Nashville. The event marked the completion of the final homes built in the neighborhood and honored the hard work, commitment, and perseverance of the families who now call Park Preserve home.

The dedication recognized more than the completion of homes. It celebrated the journey each homeowner took to reach this milestone through partnership, education, and dedication to achieving long‑term stability for themselves and their families.

The ceremony also included a special recognition for Danny Herron, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, who is retiring later this year. Metro Councilmember Kyonzte Toombs presented Danny with a resolution honoring his 16 years of leadership and service. Metro Councilmember Jennifer Gamble joined the celebration, along with Ralph Perrey, Executive Director of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, who shared remarks reflecting on Danny’s impact on affordable housing in Middle Tennessee.

This dedication marked Danny’s final ceremony as President and CEO. In his remarks, he encouraged the community to continue serving one another and to remain committed to being there for neighbors, regardless of differences.

As we celebrate the completion of Park Preserve, we also celebrate the determination of the eight new homeowners who made this moment possible. Their accomplishments stand as a reminder of what can be achieved when community, partnership, and purpose come together.
