2018 Couture Construction

This sixth annual Women Build event, Couture Construction, presented by Frost Brown Todd LLC and chaired by Mekesha Montgomery was held at Dillard’s, The Mall at Green Hills, in March.  The event was a huge success with more than 300 attending the fashion show and style event benefitting Humanity of Greater Nashville’s Women Build.

Pennington Distilling Company greeted guests with an “elevated” lemonade specialty cocktail, made with Pickers Blueberry Vodka.  A variety of hors d’oeuvres complimented the bar sponsored by The Edwards Pharris Group at Morgan Stanley.

Guests enjoyed a fashion show coordinated by Dillard’s personal shopper Cathi Aycock that highlighted spring looks for women, men and children.

As guests left, they were given a swag bag sponsored by The Wilson Group Real Estate Services featuring champagne and Godiva chocolate. Ticket sales along with a portion of Dillard’s proceeds for the night raised more than $30,000, which will cover half the cost of construction materials for this year’s future Women Build Habitat homeowner Jazmyn Davis. The other half of her house is sponsored by UPS and Skanska. Jazmyn, along with her sponsors and volunteers, will begin building her home at the end of April. Ten Habitat homes have been built for Women Build partner families.

Women Build is a unique partnership of female community leaders, along with companies focused on women as executives and mentors, coming together to sponsor, build, and dedicate a house for a female homeowner. Women Build is focused on the power of networking to help women achieve their goals, including making homeownership a reality for a Habitat partner family each year. For more information on how you can get involved in Women Build or for more information about Couture Construction, contact Lauren Lane Payne at llanepayne@habitatnashville.org.
